Support
Members are responsible for the hiring of 3rd party auditors and for the elaboration and implementation of the work-plans and good biodiversity and management practices these require. The Union will try to accompany this process to the extent possible with advice and support of a general character.
In some cases, the Union may be in a position to provide specific advisory, technical or financial help to its members. Support services that the Union is planning to offer in the future include the following: access to best practices, financial support to smaller members for the implementation of good biodiversity practices in the context of their work-plans (e.g. sustainable use and benefit sharing) and support for smaller members in verification efforts.
As these services depend on the financial resources available to the Union, they are expected to become available as the Union grows or manages to obtain funding from other sources.
