As part of its goals to offer increasing market recognition for its members' ethical sourcing practices, the UEBT developed different certification programs. These programs enable organizations that are UEBT Trading Members to make claims that specific ingredients and/or specific supply chains are sourced/source with respect for people and biodiversity. 1- Internal Monitoring System (IMS) Certificate holders

Examples of on-market products holding UEBT/UTZ herbal tea certification

UEBT/UTZ herbal tea certificate holders, mentioned above, are either suppliers (Jan Spider, Martin Bauer...), producers and/or exporters (Sociedad Agricola y Forestal Casino) of  leaves, fruits, flowers, seeds, roots and/or bark used in the composition of herbal teas.

These UEBT/UTZ herbal tea products can be found across more than 17 European countries, spanning from Germany and the Netherlands to Cyprus and Greece. Well-known brands like Meßmer, Milford and Westcliff for instance sell UEBT/ UTZ certified herbal teas, while other brands are preparing market introductions. As of December 2017, 10 retailers offer UTZ labeled herbal teas, including Aldi Süd, Albert Heijn, Migros, Lidl, Edeka, Hofer, Netto, Dagrofa, Coop Trading and more.
