Who are they?

The International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labeling Alliance's (ISEAL) mission is to strengthen sustainability standards for the benefit of people and the environment. The ISEAL Alliance is the backbone of the sustainability standards and certification movement, and global leader in defining and communicating what good practice looks like for them.

ISEAL's members are sustainability standards that meet ISEAL's Codes of Good Practice and promote measurable change through open, rigorous and accessible certification systems. ISEAL helps them improve their effectiveness through research, capacity building, shared learning and innovation. ISEAL members are making a unique contribution to driving sustainability.

UEBT a member of ISEAL

Since 2009, UEBT is full member of ISEAL and UEBT Ethical BioTrade Standard, built on the seven BioTrade Principles and Criteria as developed by UNCTAD BioTrade initiative, was designed in accordance with the requirements stipulated by ISEAL.

Research shows that ISEAL full membership is strongly linked to improved transparency, accessibility and rigour of a standards system. UEBT's membership to the ISEAL Alliance thus speaks to the credibility of UEBT as a leading sustainability standard system.
