UEBT sets good practices for how companies and their suppliers source natural ingredients. UEBT standards are used to independently check that good practices are systemically applied.
UEBT Ethical BioTrade Standard
The Ethical BioTrade Standard consists of 7 principles. It defines ethical sourcing practices for innovation and sourcing that contribute to a world in which people and biodiversity thrive.
UEBT's standard builds on the BioTrade Principles and Criteria as developed by the UNCTAD BioTrade Initiative. It was last revised after consultation with a wide range of stakeholders – companies, communities, civil society in 2012.
UEBT is a member of ISEAL, the global association for credible sustainability standards. We implement the ISEAL codes of good practice on standard setting, assurance and impact monitoring.
