A benefit-sharing agreement for the Clanwilliam Cedar

UEBT and the ABS Capacity Development Initiative have come together to collaborate on a range of activities that provide governments, companies and other stakeholders with technical and practical expertise on putting in practice legal and ethical requirements on access and benefit sharing in Africa.

This case study describes how guidance and facilitation was provided through this partnership to establish benefit sharing agreements that contribute to the livelihoods of local communities in the Cederberg Mountains and promote the conservation of the Clanwilliam cedar.
